Does the Original Kaspersky “Anti-Virus” Plan Still Offer the Same Protection Now that They’ve Updated Their Plans?

So recently I learned that Kaspersky replaced their old antivirus plans, including Anti-Virus, Internet Security, and Total Security. Because of this, I’m wondering if I should switch my antivirus to one of their updated plans.
One of the only reasons I downloaded an antivirus was because I love downloading mods for games, and because of that some people on the internet host their mod websites with malicious ads, and sometimes they use link shorteners such as adfly or shortest to link to their downloads. Typically I’ve always tried to avoid creators that use these tactics, however, sometimes I click a download link blindly and it brings me to a malicious website which kaspersky blocks or blocks downloads to.
Because of this, I’m wondering if I should switch to one of their new plans for a better amount of protection. I see no reason to cancel my current plan (the Anti-Virus plan) if it offers the same basic levels of protection (i.e. same malware detection rates and removal success rates) as the rest of the kaspersky lines. If anyone has any reccomendations please let me know.
